Shooting with big aperture....!

  1. The closeups are generally shot with medium apertures at f8 or f11 to give maximum depth of field...The picture above was taken at f4 with 70-300mm lens and focused in front. The front area comes sharp, but letting the back portion as out of focus....This treatment can be given keeping in mind the DOF u want, giving more attention to small area or the whole picture....The f4 is to be used cleverly in closeups with DSLRs. However when shooting with smaller aperture the whole flower will come sharp, still maintaining good bokeh (background out of focus).
